Day 8,  Tuesday  09/27/2011

Drove from Indiana to Scott AFB, IL (near St Louis, MO) today.  Traffic wasn't too heavy, even on the ring road around Indianapolis, which surprised me.  Left in the rain once again, but arrived in the sunshine so that was a nice change. We found our way to the campground and got settled in without any trouble, then took a walk around the campground and enjoyed the gazebo, pond, and picnic areas.  It's really a pretty area.  I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
We're looking forward to checking out the base tomorrow, shopping at the commissary (how exciting is that??), then going into St Louis to see the Gateway Arch and other attractions.  Tonight we made reservations at a campground in Branson, MO for Thurs-Sat nights.  That should be fun - everyone who's been there has really enjoyed it.  More to come on our trek into "the big city" tomorrow .................
