While we were still in Oregon, we drove into California's Priarie Creek National and State Park to see some more redwoods. We were able to see this during the government shutdown because it was also a state park, and the state agreed to pay the costs to keep it open.
Note that the road goes to the left of that tall tree. |
Drove from Brookings, OR, to the KOA in Willits, CA. What a trip! The roads were narrow, twisty, and up and down hills. Not for the faint of heart - especially with the camper on.

Took a trip over to Ft Bragg and drove up the Mendocino coast on Route 1. All of it was beautiful, but the drive over and back were terrifying! SO glad we didn't have the camper on.
Also visited the "Chandelier Tree" where visitors (but not us) can drive their vehicle through an actual redwood tree. Pretty neat!
