Good morning to all my friends and family in Maine's winter wonderland! I'll only say it one time, then I'll drop it - we were cruising the strip last night at 10:00pm wearing shorts and short sleeved shirts. I'm just sayin'.......
After our great anniversary night out on Wednesday, we decided to hit the strip again, only in daylight, the next day. We toured Harrah's, Mandalay Bay, and the Venetian. I've attached pics of the Venetion so that you can see how spectacular it is. The pictures that look like they were taken outside were actually inside. They are in the Italian square created by a sky reflected on the ceiling and lighting. I'd have sworn we were in Italy at dusk. The other picture was taken just to show how ornate the decor is. Impressive.
Last night we decided to go to Freemont Street, know as the "old" Vegas. They've taken one street that's away from the strip and for the most part blocked it from traffic to make it easier to get around. There are several casinos, restaurants, street performers, live bands, etc., so lots of fun - especially around Halloween. Some of the outfits you see are costumes. Others should be, but aren't, unfortunately. In one, you'll see Elvis (in his later days). But the main attraction is the canopy that covers the street, and every hour in the evening, they play a light/sound show of some kind, and as you can see, it's beautiful. The other draw is the zip line that people can ride from one end to the other over the crowd. That was fun to watch.
