12/24/2011  What a beautiful day to be outside!!  We spent some time at the beach just up the road from our room.  I told Mike I wanedt to stick my toe in the Pacific ocean just to say I did, but it was a little too cool for that.

Then it was on to Balboa Park where the San Diego Zoo is located.  The zoo will wait until tomorrow, but we had a great time at the park where there are several museums, gardens, etc.  Just seeing the gorgeous spanish architecture was worth the trip, and enjoyed the classic car museum.

Next we went to Cabrillo National Monument/Park at Point Loma where the first European set foot on the west coast.  From there we could see the beach where we were in the morning, as well as the town of Coronado and NAS North Island.  Quite a view.

After that it was on to Red Robin for a late lunch (missed you Ty), and back to North Island/Coronado to recuperate.

The Beach House/deck at "Breakers Beach", NAS North Island, San Diego.  Can't you just picture weddings being held here?

A morning view of the Pacific.

Really enjoyed strolling through the beautiful streets of Balboa Park.

View of Coronado/NAS North Island from Cabrillo Monument at Point Loma.
