Frankenmuth, MI

July 10/11 2013

Wednesday morning we left Shipshewana for the Pine Ridge RV Park in Birch Hill, MI.  We spent a quiet evening, still trying to get our camper in order, but that's an ongoing thing, for a while at least. Thursday we headed to Frankenmuth, MI, a little town that was settled in 1845 by a group from the Bavaria area of Germany.  It still looks like a small Bavarian village (except for the gas stations, ATMs, etc !) but it's really a beautiful little place.  Flowers all over the town, known for beer, fudge (?), and food.  Mike and I did our best to sample as much as we could, and we proclaimed it authentic. : )

Mike met his match!

Note the water slide coming out of the side of the lodge!

We cruised the Cass River on the Bavarian Belle.

And took a carriage ride around town.

Goliath was our horse's name - what a beauty!

All in all, a great day!
