Today we branched off from the "Loops" and drove over Beartooth Highway and Colter Pass (elev 8048'). We saw some wildlife, some beautiful views from the mountain pass, and even a rainbow when the rain finally stopped as we started back down.

| We had such fun with this bison who decided he would take his sweet time crossing the bridge because (1) he's in no hurry and (2) he had to be sure to stay exactly on the yellow line! So we "escorted" him over the bridge, and as soon as he cleared the bridge, he meandered to the side of the road so that he could go back home. I don't think he was even aware that we were right behind him with a 3/4 ton pickup, but if he was, he sure didn't care. |
