We enjoyed another day out, this time a trip to the Mammoth Hot Springs and travertine terraces in the Upper Loop. The ride up was full of surprises (Rustic Falls - more bison holding up traffic while crossing the road), and when we arrived at the terraces, they took our breath away. They are ever changing, increasing up to 2 feet per year, and the colors, again, were amazing. At Mammoth Village, home of the park headquarters, we enjoyed a display of some memorabilia (clothes, tools, written thoughts, etc.) of some of the first people to discover and live in the area. I always like to hear what they had to say about places as unique as the park.
