Devil's Tower, WY

August 11, 2013

Well, as if we couldn't find enough to do in South Dakota, yesterday we took a ride into northeastern Wyoming to see Devil's Tower.  It's been on our "to see" list for a while, but it made more sense to drive there from this area of South Dakota, then wait till we were in the western side of Wyoming.

Incredible - what nature can do, given time.

If you look right in the center of the picture, you can just see the outline of the tower.  That was from over 20 miles away.

Over 10 miles away-

And over 3 miles away

This was taken at the Devil's Tower National Monument.

Prairie Dogs burrow all over the place, and because people feed them, they get pretty chunky

And just because I love these rock formations and colors, I had to throw these in, too.
